Rubbish Removal Services

rubbish removal solutions

Lancashire Clearance Services will take care of all your rubbish removal needs. You will often find that your local authority can remove some items cheaper though.

This council service can really help keep the cost of rubbish removals down as there can be extra charges for some items. This depends on the condition of the items. Surcharge will not apply if we can resell them.

Surcharge Items

CRT Televisions, Mattresses, and Fridges can all have a surcharge with our service unless they are re-useable. These are the items we would recommend getting the council to take. Gas cylinders are another item we much charge extra for. The current charge for these is £25.00 per unit.

The council will be able to get rid of there, therefore, reducing the cost and canceling out any additional charges we would need to apply.

For example, we need to charge £25 per mattress and £40 per refrigerator/freezer. Chorley Council can take up to 5 large items for a fee of around £50. Therefore if you have a fridge and a couple of mattresses, the cheapest option is to get the council to take these items.

House Clearance Rubbish Removal Checklist.

  1. Make sure the person or company you call for a quote is licensed and registered on the public register at the Environment Agency website.
  2. Check whether the quote will be inclusive of VAT or if it will be added to the invoice.
  3. Get quotes in writing and look out for clauses which state that the cost of your house clearance or rubbish removal can increase.
  4. Always get at least 3 quotes for your job.
  5. Never pay a deposit or any money up-front to any house clearance or rubbish removal company. Immediate payment upon completion is acceptable.
  6. Beware of companies only accepting cash.

Do The Job Yourself to save money.

If you have the time, you can get a free permit from your local council to take a van on to the household waste recycling center. Most councils allow 1 permit per month but it is free.

Hire a van from around £50 and load it up to take to the tip yourself. This will save you a lot of money. Companies like ours cannot use normal recycling centers. We have to go to commercial waste transfer stations and pay by weight. On top of that, we are charged a surcharge for certain items such as sprung mattresses, Fridges, Gas Bottles, and Old CRT Television sets.

Disposal of bulky waste

Bulky waste is the term used for those items that won’t fit into your general rubbish bin or that are too big for you to take to the waste recycling centers, for example, furniture, cookers, and fridges.

Your district council will offer a bulky waste collection service to remove items from your home.

Please note that some district councils may charge for this service.
