Contact a house clearance company. You can find companies online or through word-of-mouth. When you contact a company, be sure to ask about their experience, pricing, and what services they offer.
The best way to get an accurate quote is to book a FREE visit to quote.
Book a time and for the clearance. The company will need to know the size of the property, the amount of items to be cleared, and the date and time you would like the clearance to take place.
The company will arrive on the day of the clearance and start working. They will typically start by removing large items, such as furniture and appliances. They will then move on to smaller items, such as clothes, books, and personal belongings.
The company will take all of the items away. Some companies will just dump all the stuff. Lancashire House Clearance has a Zero to Landfill policy and will re-use, recycle and sell what we can.
The company will clean up the property if requested. They will sweep up any debris and remove any trash.
The cost of a house clearance will vary depending on the size of the property, the amount of items to be cleared, and the services offered by the company.
It is important to get multiple quotes before booking a house clearance.
Here are some tips for choosing a house clearance company:
Get multiple quotes.
Ask about the company’s experience and qualifications.
Make sure the company is insured and licenced.
Get everything in writing, including the price, the services to be provided, and the date and time of the clearance.
House clearances can be a stressful experience, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. There are many companies that specialize in house clearances, and they can help you get the job done quickly and efficiently.
Lancashire House Clearance will reduce the cost of a house clearance where there is any value in the contents of the property.
A House Clearance is a charged service. Our company prices a job by volume, we then look at any re-sale value at auction in the contents of the property.
Any value is deducted from the cost.
If the value is greater than the cost, we pay you. This is not usually the case.
Some customers give away hundreds of pounds to charities before calling us in to quote.
This is great for charities as they just take the best stuff and leave you to deal with the rest. If you genuinely want to support a charity then that’s really good but, if you are only calling a charity in to get rid of some stuff for free, it could actually cost you more to have the rest cleared.
It is not advisable to pay upfront for a house clearance. There are a few reasons for this:
There is a risk that the company will not do the work or will do a poor job. If you pay upfront, you will have no recourse if the company does not do what they promised.
There is a risk that the company will disappear with your money.
There are unscrupulous companies out there who will take your money and then disappear without doing any work.
You may be able to negotiate a better price if you pay immediately when the work is done.
Many house clearance companies are willing to negotiate on price if you are willing to pay after the work is done.
If you are considering hiring a house clearance company, it is important to do your research and choose a reputable company. You should get multiple quotes and ask about the company’s terms and conditions. You should also get everything in writing, including the price, the scope of work, and the payment terms.
Here are some tips for choosing a reputable house clearance company:
Get multiple quotes. This will give you a good idea of the average price for house clearance services in your area.
Check the company’s credentials. Make sure the company is licensed and insured. You can check with your local Trading Standards to see if there have been any complaints filed against the company.
Get everything in writing. This includes the price, the scope of work, and the payment terms.
Pay after the work is done. This will protect you in case the company does not do the work or does a poor job.
If you follow these tips, you can be sure to choose a reputable house clearance company and avoid any problems.

Quite a bit happens once we take the stuff away. The items are sorted and separated into different streams. Recycle, Sale and Donate.
The rest is taken to a materials recovery facility. Here everything is stripped down to their different materials. These materials are then sent off for re-manufacture into new products.

We only sell through auction and as you possibly know, auctions are volatile and unpredictable. Our values allowed for items are based on past experience and cannot possibly consider what will happen in the future.
So let us answer this question with one of our own. If we allowed you £50 off the cost of your clearance for an item and it only sold for £10, would you expect us to come back and ask your for the £40 shortfall ?
The answer is No, you would not get any extra money. If this happened and we had allowed £50 for something that sold for £100 at auction, the auction fees are 20% + VAT and a £2.00 Lotting fee so out of the £100 we would get £74.00 then take off another 20% corporation tax means we would be left with £59.00 . A Grand profit of £9.00
